The Real Countryside Alliance

Welcome to Bloody Yorkshire Petition

By Admin on 05 January, 2012

In recent years Yorkshire has had its fair share of problems with badger baiters, persecution of birds of prey, allegations of illegal hunting and other wildlife abuse. Nevertheless Welcome to Yorkshire, the official tourism agency for Yorkshire, has now allowed a bloodsport group to be one its members.

The Countryside Alliance, formerly the British Field Sports Society, is known for promoting cruelty to animals and supporting businesses and individuals who partake in such cruel and barbaic activities.

Wildlife supporters have set up a petition to prevent cruelty to animals, and ask Welcome to Yorkshire to cancel the Countryside Alliances membership.

Please don’t forget also to e-mail ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ if you have not done so already.

If ever there was a classic example of the Countryside Alliance policy: "Wrap hunting up in the wider rural fabric. Because everyone loves the countryside and hates hunting."
Welcome to Yorkshire to should be ashamed of themselves and I say that as a Yorkshireman.

Yorkshire is for the most part a beautiful county. The Countryside Alliance is an ugly organisation. Don't let the beauty of Yorkshire be uglified by association with the Countryside Alliance.
